Samsung is actively developing the Exynos 2600, its next-generation flagship processor built on cutting-edge 2nm technology. Exynos 2600 Brings Major Thermal Improvements
According to leaks and industry reports, the Exynos 2600 is expected to deliver up to a 30% improvement in thermal performance. To address the persistent heat management issues seen in previous Exynos flagships, Samsung Foundry has introduced a new solution called “Heat Path Block” (HPB) technology. This innovation reflects Samsung’s long-term effort to improve sustained performance and efficiency.
Samsung’s Heat Path Block (HPB) technology features a redesigned thermal architecture that significantly enhances heat dissipation in mobile processors. A copper heatsink is directly packaged on top of the application processor (AP), allowing faster and more efficient heat transfer. Additionally, the DRAM is repositioned to the side, minimizing heat concentration and further improving cooling efficiency.
Samsung claims this advanced thermal design enables the Exynos 2600 to maintain better sustained performance, improved power efficiency, and reduced thermal throttling, especially during demanding tasks such as gaming, AI processing, and high-resolution video recording.
Samsung Exynos 2600 2nm: What to Expect
Samsung has officially released a teaser video for the Exynos 2600 on its YouTube channel, confirming its importance as a flagship chipset. The Exynos 2600 is being positioned as a major breakthrough, as it is the world’s first mobile processor manufactured using a 2nm process, based on Samsung’s advanced Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor technology.
Early reports suggest that the Exynos 2600 will deliver substantial GPU and NPU performance improvements, offering faster graphics rendering, enhanced AI capabilities, and improved efficiency. These upgrades are expected to significantly benefit mobile gaming, on-device AI features, and computational photography.
Several industry sources claim that Samsung’s new 2nm chipset could outperform Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Apple’s A19 Pro, particularly in GPU and AI workloads. If accurate, this would mark Samsung’s strongest comeback yet in the flagship processor segment.
Exynos 2600 Benchmark Performance
Recent benchmark leaks indicate that the Exynos 2600 achieves around 3,309 in single-core and 11,356 in multi-core scores. This places it close to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which reportedly scores approximately 3,500 single-core and 11,500 multi-core.
In comparison, Apple’s A19 Pro is said to lead in single-core performance with a score of around 3,800, but falls behind in multi-core tests with approximately 10,000 points. These results suggest that the Exynos 2600 is highly competitive in multi-core workloads, narrowing the gap with Qualcomm and even surpassing Apple in certain scenarios.
Camera, Efficiency, and Real-World Performance
Smartphones powered by the Exynos 2600 are expected to offer enhanced photography and video recording performance, driven by improved AI processing and image signal capabilities. However, despite Samsung’s claims, real-world efficiency and thermal performance remain unverified.
As of now, independent testing and third-party reviews are not available, meaning battery efficiency, sustained performance, and long-term thermal behavior can only be confirmed once retail devices are tested under real-world conditions.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series and Exynos 2600
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is widely expected to debut with the Exynos 2600 2nm SoC. Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus will be powered by the Exynos 2600, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy in all regions.
This strategy would allow Samsung to showcase its in-house chipset in the standard and Plus models, while ensuring maximum performance and consistency in the Ultra variant using Qualcomm’s flagship processor
